It’s a common misconception that Auroras are Northern lights. Truth is, Auroras occur on both poles of the planet Earth, the obvious implication being there’s a Southern light as well. Auroras are the visualization of the Earth’s protective magnetic field that acts as a shield against the Sun’s energy. The grand spectacle appearing up there is a never-ending battle between the Sun and the Earth. The Southern dance of these particles against the push and pull of the magnetic field is known as “Australis”.

NEAR has provided the means to extremely low transaction fees with high speed using their L1 Nightshade sharding solution. Australis aims for unforeseen areas and focuses on the missing pieces of this fast growing ecosystem; be it lending, leveraging, borrowing, flash loans, dev tools or integrity, we’re determined to further promote individual sovereignty. Therefore, not only do we believe in blockchain and its future, we believe in NEAR and Aurora.
